Keep Leipzig at… zero and the awesome Celtic is rising – Dortmund was spared a big laugh!

by

Celtic and Dortmund laid solid foundations for qualification! Although we are only in the 4th matchday, the Scots have reached 7 points, while the Westphalians have 9 and… wink at the next phase of the Champions League, having of course still a long way to go!

At “Celtic Park”, Brendan Rodgers’ well-worked team prevailed with an emphatic 3-1 victory over Leipzig, leaving them in last place and even without a point. The Germans took the lead in the 23rd minute through Baumgartner and looked capable of putting the brakes on the slump of recent weeks. However, their joy lasted for a few minutes as Koon took action. First, in the 35th minute, the German equalized with a goal and in the 1st minute of stoppage time, he brought it a somersault (2-1).

Schmeichel, with two major interventions in the second half, kept the score as it was and gave his team the right to finish the match. It was the 72nd minute when Gulasci saw the ball come to life in his hands, with Hatate from close range making it 3-1.

In Westphalia, Dortmund found it dark against Sturm Graz but managed to beat them 1-0 to reach 9 points.

The game was an aggressive monologue by the Germans, who played like cat and mouse with the visitors. They wasted over 20 finals and 11 corners, losing one phase after another, but redeemed themselves in the finale.

In the 86th minute, Girassi left a marginal position, played for Mullen who from inside the area executed the Austrians and set the Signal Iduna Park on fire, giving his team a big but very fair three points.
