Shock and awe: City lose AGAIN and Liverpool have a chance to… lose!

by

Amazing things in England with the, until recently, unbeaten Manchester City of Pep Guardiola! Although they were ahead until 78′, the “citizens” saw Brighton bring them… somersault (2-1) at the ”Amex”, suffered a 4th straight defeat(!) in all competitions and Liverpool, who host Aston Villa at 22:00, have a chance to escape to +5 at the top! For history, City had lost four matches in a row since April 2006when he had been defeated – only in the league at the time – by Fulham, Arsenal, Blackburn, Chelsea. Of course, City at that time was a completely different team, even having him on their roster George Samaras! It should also be noted that this is the first time in Pep Guardiola’s career that his team has NOT won in four consecutive matches!

We remind you, the English champions lost last week to Tottenham in the League Cup, followed by the defeat by Bournemouth in the Premier League and the “four” by Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League, so that tonight the new “cuff” from ” seagulls” -where they “caught” Nottingham Forest in 3rd place with 19 points!

And yet, the first half didn’t “show” that City may not get anything back from the game. He had the dominance and the phases, finally finding a goal with him Haaland in the 23rd minute, with the Norwegian scoring with a double effort. It is characteristic, moreover, that the “seagulls” recorded three, away from home, final attempts in the first half, but they did not give up…

In the second 45 minutes they appeared all pathogens of the English champions, and especially in the last quarter. Brighton were looking for an equalizer and not only did they find it, but they also got a huge win. And an important role in this was played by the fact that he returned to active action after his injury João Pedro. After warning several times, it was he who made it 1-1 from close range in the 78th minute and in the 82nd minute O’Reilly complete one epic twist! Shocked, City failed to return to the match and even get a draw, losing once again and now giving Liverpool the chance to escape, but also Arsenal to get closer.
