Two 24 hours after triumph over Panathinaikos in the OAKA for the Euroleague, the “red and white” were storming at the Peace and Friendship Stadium, crushing the Patrinos with the unlikely 106-66 for the 6th round of the Stoiximan GBL!
After a competitive first quarter, Giorgos Bartzokas’ side hit the… accelerator and never looked back, even reaching at +53 (102-49) in the middle of the fourth period! In fact, he finished the match with 13-32 3-pointers (40%). This was also Piraeus’ fifth consecutive victory in all competitions, which improved to 5-1 in the league, behind only undefeated Panathinaikos.
The first scorer for the winners was Nikola Milutinov with 19 points and 10 rebounds, with Kostas Papanikolaou to follow with 18 points and 6/11 three-pointers! Vezenkov and Wright they added 13 points each, with Lorentzakis to finish the match with 12, the time when o Evan Fournier he did not compete for a minute due to rest. The response of the “red and white” was immediate, as with consecutive three-pointers of Vezenkov, Papanikolaou and Dorsey, increased the difference at +11 and 21-10 in the 7th minute, before the visitors with an 8-3 run in the last two minutes reduced at 24-18 in the period.
With him Nikola Milutinov to dominate under the two baskets started the second quarter, in which the Piraeus also managed to fully impose themselves, building large differences in the score. With the Serbian center scoring nine of his team’s first twelve points, Olympiacos went at +16 and 36-20 in the 15th minute. Prometheus managed to put a brake on its offensive dystocia with Walker’s 3-pointer made it 36-23 shortly after, scoring for the Patrinos after 4 minutes of play.
The excellent and pressing defense of the hosts, however, both on the ball and in the shots, continued at an unabated pace, as a result of which the Patrinos found two more points until half-time! The individual score of the second period was indicative of the image of the match it was 28-7 in favor of Olympiakos.

Three-pointers by Perry and Walker, as well as shots by the latter, made it 68-38 a minute later, with Papanikolaou’s fourth three-pointer of the game and Dorsey’s nice two-pointer to make 73-38 at 36′!
In the last three minutes, Prometheus with Ivudou as the main spokesperson found some easy points, with Olympiakos, however, responding with their captain, after Papanikolaou closed the third period with two more difficult three-pointers at the end at +34 for 83-49!
The Piraeus did not let their foot off the gas even in the fourth period, where they entered with an improbable 19-0 by Larentzakis, Milutinov, Peters and Mitrou-Long for +53 and 102-49 at 35′! Somewhere in there, the hosts eased up, with Prometheus taking advantage and with Walker, Bazina and Ivudu in the foreground, gathering the difference for the final 106-66.
