Panathinaikos AO: They request G.S. regarding the termination of the contract for Botanikos

This morning (18/11) the document with the required signatures was submitted to the Panathinaikos AO, for the convening of an extraordinary General Assembly regarding the termination of the contract for Botanikos.

With the “Movement of Members of the Panathinaikos Athletic Club” to speak of unjustified stagnation and to give 15 days’ leeway to the management of the Amateur.

The letter in detail:

“Mr. President,

As is known, more than 30 months have passed since the vote on the Club’s home issue.

This period of time was more than sufficient for there to be — literally and figuratively — visible results in terms of the construction of the facilities for the Athletic Club departments. On the contrary, there is unjustified stagnation leading to a clear violation of the agreed schedule.

For these reasons:

We request, within 15 days from the notification of this, the convening of an extraordinary General Assembly with the following items on the agenda, so that the members can be called upon to decide on the following issues:

a) In the event that the provision defined in article 10.4.3 is not implemented, between the Municipality of Athens and Panathinaikos A.O. concession contract date, i.e. Tuesday 31-12-2024, and the sports facilities referred to in it have not been delivered, as foreseen, to Panathinaikos A.O., we decide to exercise, immediately and without further action, the right of termination in accordance with what are expressly provided for in article 10.4 of the concession agreement.

In particular, we decide to serve a written notice of termination of the concession contract on behalf of the Panathinaikos Athletic Club, addressed to the Municipality of Athens, within 5 working days of the passing of the critical time milestone for the delivery of the sports facilities.

b) The immediate termination of any contracts concluded between Panathinaikos A.O. and the Municipality of Athens, which modify the terms of the concession contract or extend its time limits.

c) The designation of the General Assembly as the exclusive jurisdictional body for the approval or non-approval of any future or existing contract regarding the relocation of the Panathinaikos Athletic Club, whether it takes place within the framework of the Double Redevelopment program or under another legal regime”.
