Rastavacs: “The problem is in the transition – The match against Lamia is difficult”

by

To the journalists’ questions at his established media day OFI answered the Milan Rastavac.

The Serbian coach emphasized that the biggest problem of his team is the transition, something he wants to improve, noted that the break came at the right point and mentioned that the upcoming match against Lamia is difficult and has particularities.

“Our problem during matches is that there are many transitions. Many transitions means that many times there may be situations that you cannot control as you want. We want to overcome that by controlling the game more. One way to control the game more is to improve some pieces in possession. It’s something we have, but we need to grow it a little more in-game.”he initially said.

At the same time, he, like his players, left behind the draw with Athens Kallithea: “I think that in the game against Athens Kallithea we were tired, not so much physically but mostly mentally. I think this break was good for us, to freshen us up a bit and to be able to find our balance and clear goals.”

On whether he can give an explanation for OFI’s slump in the second half of the match against Athens Kallithea: “There is no logical and simple explanation as to why there are several times the performance difference in the first and second half. There are probably many reasons. I want to be optimistic and believe that we will find ways to overcome situations like this.”

Finally, he pointed out the degree of difficulty of the match against Lamia: “It will be a difficult game. Firstly there is the stadium in Lamia which is a bit special, Lamia’s way of playing is always strong and competitive and it is always difficult to beat anyone in the Greek league. The hardest part is going on a winning streak. We see that even the big teams in the league are struggling to go on a winning streak. This is the hardest. We have a very important and competitive game ahead of us, we want to prepare properly for it.”
