Stotel on the victory over Greece: “We stayed together in the difficult times, I am proud of my players”

The M. Britain bent me 73-72 Greece and Mark Stutell declared his pride for his players and explained how his team came to victory over the blue and white.

“Our team stuck together in the thick of it, in the first half we were out of pace and found ourselves down -17, but it was a big deal that we were down to single digits at half time. We didn’t do everything perfectly, we have a lot of things to fix, but we won and I’m proud of my players. They deserve congratulations, as do all my colleagues. We stayed true to our identity, we played better in the second half and we have another chance on Sunday against a team that will definitely want to show an improved face“, pointed out the technician of M. Britain.

For his part, Carl Whittle (leader of Great Britain) said: “In the first half we were not good, but we increased the pressure in our defence, we reacted and got a very important win. The world gave us a lot of energy, we fed off the push it gave us and we want to inspire the world and come to us. We’ll see what we can fix ahead of Sunday. We have to keep up the pace and if we come in strong, we can win. We will face a tough home team but we will fight».
