Guilty as charged rape and beating of a woman was judged o Conor McGregor.
On Friday afternoon, the High Court in Dublin, after deliberating for six hours and 10 minutes, announced that the 38-year-old UFC champion was found guilty of the above charges, imposing the fine a fine of 250.00 euroswhich will go as compensation to the victim.
The woman in question had filed a lawsuit against the Irish MMA athlete for sexual assault she received in Dublin hotel on December 9, 2018. Nikita Hunt accused McGregor that he and a friend of his, James Lawrence, proceeded to abuse her, with the latter being acquitted at trial.
On his way out of court, McGregor, who at deposit had claimed to him that they had consensual sex, she refused to make statements to the cameras, while, for her part, Hunt tearfully stated:
“I want to show my daughter and all the women in the world that we have to fight. If something happens to you, no matter who did it, no matter how afraid you are to speak up, you have to do it for justice to do its job.”
Jury came to that decision after 6hrs 10 mins.
