Zeljko Obradovic praised Olympiacos and its roster in his statements ahead of the match with his team. Partizan’s coach emphasized that the quality of the Reds’ roster is such that the absences they will have will not play a role and will not be felt.
In detail what he said:
For the absences of Olympiakos:
“I’m not sure how many problems they have. They have such a roster that if one or two players are missing, it is not felt on the court. Olympiacos is a team that is built to aim higher, as always. They have brought in several excellent players, the backbone of the team has remained, as has the manager, the philosophy is almost unchanged and that is important. They play great.
They are the second most efficient team in the Euroleague, the situation is clear both defensively and offensively, and we have an extremely demanding game ahead of us. We have to play at a very high level if we want to be competitive for 40 minutes.”
On whether he is more motivated to beat Olympiakos because he used to coach Panathinaikos:
“This is a much older story and this is a long overdue question. I am the coach of Partizan and this is the most important thing for me. I don’t need any other motivation than what I have, which is to win for Partizan. I love this job and I act like it”.
