Milutinov praised the Angelopoulos: “Thank you for investing so much money and bringing such players”

Olympiakos’ winning streak is tested tonight in Belgrade, with Nikola Milutinov to return to his hometown and face his former team, the They were partisans.

The international Serbian center gave an interview to meridian sport and talked about his presidents Olympiakou deifying them, his love for the “red and white” as well as confirming the terrible situation he is in.

What he said in detail:

On how he feels at Olympiakos: “I feel great. Thank God, my body is serving me for now, everything is going as it should. I feel good with these players on the pitch and it’s a great pleasure to be part of this team.”

For team status: “We are in a good rhythm. We were looking for each other a bit at the beginning, we brought in two key players, two team captains and that’s normal for a new team, but I think we managed to find our rhythm. We’re playing better, we’re looking good as a team, we’re doing something this year that maybe we haven’t done before, we’re scoring so many points, but I think there’s still a lot of room for improvement. Sometimes defensively we make big mistakes, our game goes a little up and down, but it’s all normal. It is important that we are in a good position and we have to be positive.

We work well together, no one tries to stand out or be above anyone else, we all work for the team goal, we just try to make the team win, because if the team wins then all the players are happy. If a player plays well and the team loses then no one is happy, so for now everyone is satisfied, happy.”

On whether Olympiacos will win the EuroLeague: “There is no guarantee in sport that if you bring this player then you will succeed for example. We thank the presidents for investing so much in the club and allowing us to have such players. Certainly with these reinforcements we intend to go all the way, but we will see. It’s a long season, anything can happen. We just need to take the first step, get to the playoffs and then think only positive and try to get to the end.”

On whether he would return to Partizan: “When I left CSKA I wanted to go to Athens, to Olympiakos and I turned down maybe some better offers to return to Partizan. I really love this team I’m at now and I signed a guaranteed contract for two years. Who knows what will happen in the future, but this summer there was no way I was leaving.”
