EEC filed a claim file for EuroBasket 2029!

The nomination file for its organization Eurobasket 2029 EEC filed with FIBA ​​today.

The request concerns one of the groups of the first phase and the final phase of the event, which will follow the completion of the groups. The OAKA is the stadium that has been included in the file as proposed for the holding of the matches.

They have expressed their intention to host Eurobasket 2029 Slovenia and the Slovakiawhile it is rumored that Serbia and Turkey they will also claim the event. The decision on the selection of the countries that will host EuroBasket 2029 is expected in June or July.

It is recalled that Greece is hosting the Women’s Eurobasket in Junein the same way, i.e. with a group and the final phase of the event, but SEF is the venue.

H Greece has hosted EuroBasket twice in the past, the 1987 when he won the gold medal, but also the 1995when he took fourth place. The last very big basketball event it hosted was the 1998 World Cup, when it finished fourth, while of course there was also the Olympic basketball tournament in 2004, as part of the Athens Olympic Games.

Eurobasket since 2015 has been held in four different countriesone of which also hosts the final phase. In 2025, the games will take place in Cyprus, Finland, Poland and Latvia, with the latter hosting the final phase in Riga.
