The Memphis Grizzlies guard, Ja Moradis known for his incredible athleticism, often dominating his highlights NBA with impressive studs. However, many may be surprised to learn that this year, in his 12 league appearances, he has nailed just thrice!
In an interview he gave to ESPNthe American guard explained why he has limited this element of his game, stressing that it is mainly due to his fear of injury, as he has been plagued by problems in recent seasons.
“I’m not trying to nail it at all. You think I’m lying. I am very serious… Sometimes, I get knocked out in the air and the foul isn’t called, and suddenly I’m left out for longer than I’m supposed to stay. Sometimes, the foul may be whistled.
Even so, though, I hit the floor, but after the game I might feel that little drop. So I just watch out to have. Anyway, two points is two points. I’m making it. That’s all that matters”Morad elaborated.
This season, Morad has an average 22 points, 4.1 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game, with the Grizzlies doing extremely well, having 14-8 record which places them in the tetrad of the West.
