The president of IDEAD, Andreas Malatosspoke to “Diki on SKAI” about it new upgraded plan for fan violence.
“The holistic study was an initiative of the entire Government. We knew it, we wrote an open letter and told the Prime Minister not to call the wolf to guard the sheep and you saw how quickly we were confirmed with the video that shows drunk the one who came to put us on the right path. We have to ask ourselves, is the State interested in football?” he said, initially, referring to the intervention of the State in football.
In detail he then stated:
For the need for intervention by the DEAB: “This is possible, for them to intervene not only at a disciplinary level, but also at an administrative level, because sanctions are foreseen there as well. It is an official complaint to initiate criminal prosecution for the commission of some criminal acts. Well, the competent bodies of either the state or the federation cannot ignore it. They won’t impose penalties on it, but it’s a trigger.
Not that it’s a matter of the organs, but that it should put them in the process of seeing what’s going on is self-evident. Much more the DEAB”.
For the Kallipateira project aimed at addressing violence: “From what I understand, these are the police measures that will be taken based on those that have already been established. The electronic ticket etc. History has taught us that with piecemeal measures – even if they are in the right direction – if we do not try to clean up the overall environment in which violence spreads, nothing will be done. This also has to do with society. A holistic study of football by the State is needed, which will also include the fight against violence and refereeing. If there isn’t, we’ll still be left with individual measures that are good as ideas, but can’t deliver.”
