Max: “We’ve taken a lot of steps forward as a team”

by

The improvement shown by Panathinaikos in its games gradually in the last month was explained by Philip Max in an interview he gave to APE-MPE.

His statements in detail…

-You got a very important win against The New Saints, in a very clear way on the pitch which was not easy, but certainly very important for your European goal

“Yes, it was not an easy victory. The situation was a given and surely the opponent also had his hopes and believed that he could beat us, from the moment we were only one point apart in the scoreboard. But we did our job well. We scored an early goal. And after the 2-0 with Ioannidis’ penalty, we could have scored more goals, we had the opportunities to do it. But in the end we got the three points and we are satisfied with that.”

-You are coming off a run of away games, but you look very solid as a team now, you are getting the wins and you are in good shape after a very difficult start to the season. What details should you add to your game from now on?

“In the last matches, everyone has seen how we have evolved, that we have taken many steps forward as a team. All we need to do is score more. Our opportunities are… there, we create many phases which is the most important thing. In the last games we had the opportunity to score a second goal earlier and finish the matches earlier. This is something we have to work on, but as I said the steps we have taken are now very visible and that is something very good.”

-You are now back in the team, you are an active part of the rotation after a difficult start…

“It wasn’t easy for me to start. I needed a little more time Some players come in faster, some others need a little more time to fully integrate into a team, to get a good feel for everything. We’re training well, I’m doing my best, I’m healthy and that’s the most important thing. And I hope in the last three games before Christmas to get more playing minutes.”

– The games are in a row, the rotation is growing. Now you have before you the Sunday (15/12) match against Levadeiakos. Will this win in England give you an extra boost for the championship?

“Certainly! Every win is important for us right now. We have a winning streak and that is very good. I see many good things from the team, I see steps forward. And this is the path we want to follow on Sunday (15/12) and get another three points in the match against Levadeiakos…”.
