Sergio Perez on his way out of Red Bull

The disappointing season made by Sergio Peres in 2024 at Red Bull is expected to cost him his stay with the team.

Although the Mexican pilot only in June he had signed a contract for 1+1 yearsfailed to live up to the expectations of the team people and was ranked eighth in the drivers’ standings.

The Mexican has collected just 49 points in the last 18 Grands Prix, while celebrating just four podiums compared to Verstappen’s 14. Peres was the only driver among those of the four “big” championship teams not to score a win. Peres’… slump has resulted in Red Bull being ranked third in the constructors’ standings, 77 points behind champions McLaren.

The official announcement about Perez is expected soon, with Sky DE reporting that Liam Lawson will be the Mexican’s replacement and Verstappen’s new “team mate”. The New Zealander has replaced Australian Daniel Ricciardo at RB for the last six grands prix of 2024 and produced some outstanding performances.
