Olympiacos-Peks: For the great upset and the qualification to the “16” of the Eurocup

The “red and white” host tonight (19/12, 18:00) the Hungarian team, wanting to show their good competitive face and claim qualification for the round of 16 of EuroCup!

There, the “red and white” came into the game well, managing to stare down their opponents in the first half, but from the start of the third period onwards, they blocked offensively and allowed the Packs to score 32 points, building large margins in their favor and eventually taking the comfortable victory with 85-63.

The leader for Olympiakos in the match was Christinaki with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Hebe and Lambert added 12 points each. On the other hand, for Pecs, five players finished the game with double-digit points.

“We definitely want to react to our previous game away from home and fix a lot of things, especially defensively. To control the rebounds and get tougher offensively on simple things. We will claim every possession and every quarter separately and in the end, we will see if we have a positive result. Certainly, it is a step up that we have to do in view of difficult games that follow in Greece”said the coach of Olympiakos ahead of tonight’s match, Thanos Niklaswith her Ivana Raja to add:

“Pecs is a very good team, with young players, with a lot of energy, enthusiasm and motivation. I believe that with the right plan and correcting our mistakes from the previous match, we will manage to make up the difference. We have to give 100% of ourselves, each one of us, enjoy the basketball we are playing and play a very good home game”.
