The ping pong championship in the first and second division has been concluded in Sweden for 2024 where we have two Greek internationals each. The first round has ended and the second has begun and will be continued from January 2025.

In the first division of Sweden, the so-called Pingisligan Herrar, Konstantinos Konstantinopoulos competes with Record VTK and Konstantinos Angelakis with Sparwagen VTK. In the second category, Superettan Herrar, Giorgos Konstantinopoulos and Tasos Riniotis take part in the shirt of Angbi SK.

In Denmark, where the League reached its first half at the end of November, Gerasimos Hatzilygeroudis is testing his strength with the B75. And there the continuation is given before the middle of January.

On Tuesday night, the eighth and opening game for the second round took place in Sweden’s top division. Rekord defeated Falkenberg in their “home” 4-2 set and went to third place in the ranking with 16 points.

Just two 24 hours after Panathinaikos’ first place in Malta for Region E of the Europe Trophy, K. Konstantinopoulos provided the “present” and shaped the final score with a 3-2 set victory over the Danish champion Tobias Rasmussen. Earlier, he had lost 3-1 sets to also Danish international Thor Christensen.

Also, Sparwagen beat Munkendal 4-1 in a set away from home. In this match, Angelakis was absent who also came from Panathinaikos’ three-day trip to Malta. Sparwagen are fourth after 8 games with 11 points and their 4-3 set win a month ago against Swedish champions Eslov stood out.

In this match, the “golden” Balkan champion in the men’s singles had scored two great victories against the Finnish Alex Naumi and the Senegalese Ibrahim Dio with 3-1 and 3-2 sets respectively. At the end of their games in the League for 2024, Konstantinopoulos has 9 wins – 5 losses and Angelakis has 7 wins – 5 losses. On 07/01 2025 their teams will face each other.

In Sweden’s second national men’s division, which also has eight teams, last weekend’s matches for the seventh and eighth matches took place consecutively. Angby suffered two defeats against Soderham B, but without C. Konstantinopoulos and Riniotis, who had obligations in the Europe Trophy with Panathinaikos and Baltais of Latvia respectively.

Angby lost home and away to Soderham B 6-4 and 6-1 in sets respectively and after the start of the second round they are in third place with 10 points together with Halmstad BTK B.

The Greek champions do not have many appearances during this time. The G. Konstantinopoulos, however, is the third most efficient in the league with eight wins in as many matches, while Riniotis with even fewer matches has 2 wins and 1 loss.

In the Herre BordtennisLiga of Denmark, Hatzilygeroudis’ B75 finished the first round in fourth place.
