PSAPP: “Make the presence of an ambulance mandatory at women’s matches”

by

The need to change the CAP, so that the presence of an ambulance at the stadiums where women’s football matches are played, is underlined by an announcement from the Panhellenic Association of Salaried Football Players (PSAPP). The reason was the incident that occurred yesterday (22/12), in the match between PAOK and Kifisia for the women’s A’ division, when the soccer player of the visiting team, Tonia Giannoutsou, lost consciousness after a collision with an opposing player. As the Panhellenic Association of Salaried Football Players points out, it took 25 minutes for an ambulance to arrive at the New Passengers stadium, with which the unfortunate athlete was transported to the hospital, fortunately without any unpleasant consequences.

The health and safety of footballers is more important than any match” emphasizes the PSAPP in its announcement and continues: “Yesterday, in the 45th minute of the match between PAOK and Kifisia for the 8th matchday of the Women’s Super League, Kifisia’s footballer Tonia Giannoutsou lost consciousness after a collision with a PAOK player. The ambulance arrived at the New Passengers stadium 25 minutes after the incident. Fortunately, the soccer player is in good health».

We emphasize, once again, how important it is to change the CAP so that the presence of the ambulance in women’s football is also considered mandatory» concludes the announcement of the Association.
