Ipswich beat Chelsea and gave Liverpool a New Year’s gift!

by

Victory of the year for Ipswich! The neophytes did not chew against the Chelsea and they beat her 2-0 at ‘Portman Road’ for her 19th matchday Premier Leaguegetting a great three point in the battle of the eve!

In fact, it was her first home win Ipswich in this year’s league after two “doubles”, while the impressive thing is that the “blues” of London have never managed to leave “Portman Road” with three points since the moment the club was created Premier League in 1992, continuing their good tradition!

Now, the losers suffered their third consecutive loss of points and stayed at -10 from the top with matches more than Liverpoolwhich can only by… miracle lose the championship by seeing the competition disappear. On the other hand, Ipswich moved up to 18th place with 15 points being very close to Wolves and Everton.

The home team came on strong and took the lead in the 12th minute, with Liam Delap to win a penalty from Philip Jorgensen and execute it accurately for 1-0. Chelsea pressed and missed many chances, while also finding the back of the net with him Joao Felix however the goal was correctly disallowed for offside.

And while the “blues” had gone ahead and were looking for an equaliser, a mistake of his Axel Disassi led to an Ipswich counter-attack, with Delap to create for his place Omari Hutchinson and 2-0 in a terrible atmosphere. From that point on, the visitors missed more chances, but failed to find a single goal and suffered an unexpected defeat.

In the match that took place at the same time but ended a little later, the Aston Villa and the Brighton they drew 2-2, in a match with a very unpredictable development. The “villagers” now have 29 points and are in 9th place, but they kept lower than the “seagulls”, who count 27 points and are in 10th place.

Brighton took the lead with his goal Simon Andingra in the 12th minute, however, after a penalty won by Morgan Rodgers via VAR, Aston Villa drew 1-1 with Ollie Watkins in the 36th minute. The “roles” were reversed in the 47th minute, as Watkins distributed to Rogers for the home team’s 2-1. The final 2-2 was signed for the “seagulls” by Tarik Lambtey with a nice shot in the 81st minute.
