Stoiximan GBL: Ares-Olympic and key match to stay in Saturday’s rich program

by

Two courts will host the first 2025 stoiximan GBL jumbo and the first will be Nick Galis Hall. There Aris will welcome Olympiakos today (4/1, 17:00, ERT3).

The Emperor (10th, 4-8) is coming off a four-game losing streak while winning just one of its last seven league games, Dec. 1 against PAOK. To find the last time the “yellow and black” suffered four consecutive defeats, we have to go back to the beginning of the 2021-22 season. THE Olympicon the other hand, (2nd, 11-1) has reached eight consecutive wins and is of course the big favorite to prevail.

At the same time, there will be action in Rhodes, with Colossus to welcome in the closed of Kallithea the Maroussi (17:00, ERT SPORTS 1) A game that, at least by today’s data, looks very important for the “economy” of the league and especially for the battle for survival.

THE Colossus (12th, 2-10) after an eight-game losing streak returned to winning ways last week with a home win over Panionialthough it remains a tail. In the four games he played as a home team, he scored only one victory, this one against the “blue and red”. The Maroussi (11th, 3-9) is also coming off a winning streak as he defeated last week Prometheus of Patras away from home, ending a five game losing streak. Away from home he scored two of his three victories as he had also passed through the Nick Gallis Halland he wants to achieve the same in Rhodes in order to lay the foundations for his stay.

A little later, Laurel and Prometheus of Patras will face each other (18:00, ERT Sports 2), coming from a losing streak. The hosts, (9th, 4-8) after the home win over Mars on December 7, they were defeated in series by Panathinaikos within, the AEK Betsson and him Olympic away from home. However, as hosts, the “miners” have a balanced record (3-3). THE Prometheus (5th, 6-6) ended 2024 with two consecutive home losses to Panionio and the Maroussi while before these games he was unbeaten as a home team. Away from “D.Tofalos” he has a negative coefficient of results since in his six games, he won at Maroussi and in Dove.

The interesting matches continue in Glyfada, as o Panionios will face Peristeri (19:15, ERT Sports 1). The “Historic” comes from the defeat in Rhodes which was the fourth in the last five matches. As the home team, they entered the Championship with a 4/4 record, before “bending” in the details against both Panathinaikos (83-85) and Olympiakos (78-84). For Peristeri, (7th, 5-7) this will be its third away game in a row after the previous ones with Colossus in which he prevailed with 80-78 and with PAOK in which it was defeated 84-74. His record away from “Andreas Papandreou” is now 2-4, since in addition to the double in Rhodes, he also left with the victory from the Maroussi.

The last of the five games of the day will be played at the indoor “Yiannis Bourousis”. OR Carditsa will welcome (20:15, ERT3) the AEK Betssonin a match that is also of great interest. The Thessaly team, (6th, 6-6) after its six-game winning streak, was defeated by PAOK within and the Panathinaikos sixth. The Union, for its part, (4th, 7-5) is coming off its longest winning streak in this year’s Stoiximan GBL after hitting three straight. It was imposed, in turn, of Amarousiou except, of Lavrio and his Mars at home.
