They retire his shirt Derrick Rose the Bulls!
As announced by the Chicago team, the jersey with the number 1 and with Rose’s name on the back, it will ascend to the roof of the United Center in a special event to be held sometime during the 2025-26 season!
THE Rose he was selected with the number 1 draft in 2008 by the Bulls and wore their jersey until the summer of 2016. In his first season in the NBA he was named Rookie of the Year, while later in his career he became the youngest player to win his award MVP (2011) and competed in three All Star Games. He also played for the Cavaliers, Timberwolves, Pistons and Grizzlies before announcing his retirement last September.
So next season he will become the fifth Chicago Bulls player to see his jersey retired, after Michael Jordan, Jerry Sloan, Bob Love and Scottie Pippen.
