THE Panathinaikos he struggled for about 2.5 minutes, but then got serious and with yet another impressive offensive performance defeated PAOK 100-81, maintaining the unbeaten streak in the Stoiximan GBL.

After the match, Ergin Ataman he spoke at the press conference about the very good offensive “moon” his team is in, about the condition of the injured Kostas Sluka and Gerian Grant, and about the elements that brought the victory over PAOK.

What the coach of Panathinaikos said at the press conference after the victory over PAOK:

“We started the game very well. Then we kind of lost our discipline, got ridiculous three points and immediately let PAOK come back with a 13-0 run. PAOK has a good balance, they got confidence from their guards. Then we got an advantage, we gave PAOK to take points by surprise. We played more aggressively in defense and in attack we turned the ball over well, Nan and Brown helped us and Yurceven did a really good job with the racket and Osman ran the court. In the last quarter I rested our key players.”

For Sluka: “It was a surprise for me too because it happened in the warm-up. He had problems in his calf. He will go for an MRI and we will wait for the results to see if he will be available in the next few days.”

To improve the team: “Offensively the team is gaining confidence. We were playing the third best team in Greece and without Sluka and Grant, we missed 15 shots and to score 100 points means we are in a good season.”

On Grant’s condition: “He also has a calf problem. Yesterday the doctors told me not to use it today. I believe 90% he will be present in training on Tuesday.”
