OR Penny Roga she came out victorious from the biggest fight she fought in her life, as she did not let cancer bend her!
His volleyball player Panathinaikou she was diagnosed a few months ago, announcing in mid-December that she emerged victorious from the battle!
In today’s interview on ERT’s “Connections” show, Roga talked about the serious health adventure she went through, how she dealt with it, but also about her her return to competitive action and taraflex, which is not long in coming!
Her statements in detail:
“2024 was not good for me. I keep the good from all of this, I saw my endurance and limits, it was something unexpected but I understood how much strength is needed to overcome all this and I had it too.
My adventure started on March 8, 2024. It was a cup semi-final and the next day I felt a stomach ache and went to the hospital. There the mantas were announced to me. Everything in life is, that’s where I’ve ended up. I have revised many things about life and the whole world should do this.
When something like this happens to you, you can only see things positively and have the hope that it will be overcome. There were times when I felt like I couldn’t do it anymore, it matters who you have next to you, I received love from my family, support from the team and all this gives you a motivation to keep trying and fighting.
The change in you is scary, especially for a woman whose external appearance plays a big role in her psychology. But at that time you don’t think about that, you put your health first and I’ll fix everything from scratch.”
On her return to action: “My teammates are waiting for it and I’m looking forward to it. I got the green light from the doctors to slowly start going to the gym and enter gradually.”
