With ‘4 out of 4’ the first phase of European ping pong closed to men in men

by

Men’s national table tennis has completed its obligations in the first phase of the European table tennis championship with a 3-0 set win over Latvia and “4 in 4” in the first group, waiting for the opponent in the next phase.

The match with Latvia did not hide the slightest stress of our national team beyond the fact that the opponent is inferior. The final 3-0 set came in less than an hour and just a set of lost.

With B in the setting of the teams first on the table, Constantine Angelakis entered this match and faced the first Latvian, Daniel Kogan. He got the win in the three sets, but not easy. The bottom line is that he had control over the whole match, greatly exploited his qualitative attack and, with the exception of very short relaxation intervals, was consistent in defense.

In place 1 was Yiannis Sgouropoulos, who had restored Wednesday afternoon in the match against Switzerland. His opponent was Oleg Cartuzov. The Eleusinos ace was clearly superior to a 3-1 set without having to play at high pace.

From position 3 Constantine Constantinopoulos continued and ended. Our left -handed champion did not have the slightest pressure on Denis Vasiliev and got three sets by difference.

On the bench George Stamatouros, with the federal technician, Costas Vatsaklis, changed the composition every time.

In detail, the evolution of the Latvia race-Greece 0-3:

Daniel Kogans-Konstantinos Angelakis 0-3 (6-11, 9-11, 10-12)
