Powerful Greece at World Sailing Decision Centers

by

When last October, Emilios Papathanasiou was elected to the World Federation Council (Council) on the proposal of EIO and the powerful KIFI (Sailing Friends Movement) with its international interconnections, the road was essentially opened so that other athletes, other athletes, Judges from the Greek Sailing Family to be appointed to various World Sailing committees.

And that was done. Greece is now involved with 8 representatives in 12 different positions in the World Federation Committees and among the 150 members of World Sailing is the third country in the world after the US and Canada to have such a large representation!

Proof that the global sailing community recognizes our country’s enormous efforts to raise its racing level and is currently considered the world’s leading development categories.

This makes Greece powerful and at the administrative level, as Greek officials will have a strong voice in the decision centers.

After all, a key prerequisite for the proposal of the EIO’s administration to the World Federation to use these officials was to work methodically for the interests of the homeland and world sailing rather than their personalities.

Greeks participating in World Sailing Committees are

Sofia Papadopoulou: Vice -President of the Regional Games Committee and a member of the Youth Committee

Stefanos Chandakas: Member of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee

Stratis Andreas: Member of Sailing Development Committee

Marios Zisimatos: Member of Match Racing Committee

Marianna Doukas: Member of the Open Sea Committee

Eustratio: Member of the Committee on Disabled.

Alina: Member of the Subcommittee of International Judges and a member of the Subcommittee of International Referees

Dimitris Municipality: Chairman of Subcommittee of Equipment Regulations, Member of Equipment Committee and Member of the Committee of International Countdies.
