Against the adversity, with the healing that has plagued many of its players, AEK Betsson has managed to celebrate its home victory against Virzburg and is now very close to taking the first place of its group in the BCL ’16’ phase!

After the end of the match at “Sunel Arena” and in statements made, the coach of the Union, Dagan Sakotahe revealed that 10 players asked for medical help before the game, while calling them heroes because they decided to play and eventually celebrate the great win!

In detail what the AEK coach said:

“Before congratulations to everyone, I’ll go back one day. Yesterday was a horrible night. We tried to postpone the game because we had 10 players to seek medical help. In the end we learned that it is not. In the day they decided to come. I told my players before the game that they are heroes for me. The score was important, but I didn’t think about it, because the health of the players is more important than any win.

In the morning we didn’t know how many players we would have. The second problem was that Virzburg is a good team and having lost the previous match from us were more ready and reacted. They surprised us with their incredible percentage of three -pointers in the first quarter. After that, we had a period when we were upset and tried to get back to the match without playing defense. When we understood how to play, we found a rhythm and achieved one of the biggest wins of recent years.

Congratulations to everyone, I will be happy to see more people in the next game. They gave us energy today to fight to the end. Congratulations on qualifying for the play -offs and we will see what happens in the next games to see if we will win the first place. “
