The match:

A wonderful match from the very first contact in the final with Panionios making a hard time on Olympiacos, who found answers to the Atkinson and Ikic bumps, with those of Niziti and Kubura. The “battle” of the limbs continued for quite some time with Olympiacos’ mistakes giving the “blue” to take a two -point lead, but Mitseli’s team was immediately completed. For the first time in the match, Panionios managed to find himself at +3 (16-13) by putting it difficult to hold the Super Cup holders. An Olympic side brought Panionios to +4, while the “reds” continued the many mistakes that brought the “historian” to a critical point to maintain that difference (21-17). The Piraeusians looked like … hypnotized, continued to give Panionios generous points who, with a terrible series, managed to make it 25-17 and ahead 1-0.

Despite Panionios’ quick 2-0 at the start of the second set, Olympiacos immediately reacted and with a 5-0 part of the game at +3 (5-2) for the first time and forced Lorenzo Mitseli. The “reds” found rhythm aggressively and, in combination with the lack of coolness on the part of Panionios and a host of mistakes were found at +8 (18-10) that made them favorites for the equalizer. Dragan Nesic proceeded to … save forces, but Panionios rocking the difference at five without further threatening Lorenzo Mitseli’s team, which brought the final to 25-16.

In the absolute balance, the 3rd set initially rolled with both teams keeping up in scoring and going to point for quite some time. Panionios, however, found many answers to the immediate game of Olympiacos and starring Katario, as well as the nods, Law and Atkinson, opened the difference and was at a critical point at +7. On the one hand for Olympiacos Koumboura was inappropriate on several occasions, while for Panionios the reception helped to reach a safe distance and eventually the occupation of the third set for 2-1 (25-15).

Olympiacos had found them dark against the thirsty and extremely effective Panionios, but Nisietih and Lambrouss’s entrance kept him close to scoring and the quick “erases” of the big differences. Indeed, at the most critical moment, Olympiacos managed to find a lead, but also a significant difference for 18-14. Despite Panionios’ effort, Olympiacos was cooler and maintained the lead that gave him the set with 25-18 and the right to claim the title in Tai Breik.

The thriller continued in Tie Break with Olympiacos seeing Panionios never giving up and staying close to scoring. Kubura and Nizith had as the only opponent of Busa, who was pulling the … paddle for the New Smyrna team with Olympiacos at a critical point being at +2. But Nessic’s team was cool and found the way for the equalizer! But a bad service and a blockout have again brought the “reds” to a driver’s (12-10) role with Nessic calling a timeout. On our return, the class of Kubura spoke and Olympiacos, despite Panionios’ effort, took the Tie Break (15-12) and won the trophy!
