Joneson: “We are AEK, we must win in every game we give”

Statements in view of AEK’s rematch with Olympiacos (2/4, 20:30) for the semi -finals of this year’s Greek Cup, Yen Joneson.

The Union midfielder talked about how his team’s recent defeat came from PAOK, stressed his need for AEK to return to the positive results, and made it clear that he and his teammates would give them all against the “reds”, despite the few chances.

For how AEK was defeated by PAOK: “To be honest, I still edit what happened. It was shocking. As you said, for almost an hour we had total control. Even their reaction when they scored, says it all, was just as surprised. I don’t know what happened, to be honest ».

About what AEK has to do to recover: “It’s simple, to win. If you get the last game as an example, the look was very good for at least sixty minutes. We checked everything, I would say that there was only one team on the court. We have to “build” on it and start winning immediately. It is unacceptable not to have won so many consecutive games. We have to start winning directly ».

As to whether the second place may be motivated: “I don’t know, it should be in its own motivation to win every game. We have five games left in the league and one in the cup. We are AEK, we have to win every game we give. This is the “key” at the same time, to see each match separately. Yeah we play to win and we’ll see where this will get us out ».

On whether the rematch against Olympiacos and the mentality with which AEK will have to fight: “I guess we can play freely. For us, the point is to give it all, to show our honor. To fight for the club, for the team, for ourselves. To show this and the least we have to do is win. And then if this is done, we will see if it will be 1-0, 2-0 or with … magic 6-0.
