The 25 -year -old Adrian Mer’s Unibet Tietema Rockets was the triumphant of the fourth, called Vassilikos because of the many elevation, PPC Tour of Hellas 2025, from Chalkida to the Olympic Village, 185.95 kilometers.

Following Friday’s downpour and stopping on Friday, Saturday (April 5) was a – basically sunny – day -to -day for the Unibet Tietema Rockets, as well as the Victory of Mer, Giovanni Carboni took possession of the mountain jersey.

At the end of the day, however, the jersey that everyone would like to own, Martin Lopez of the XDS Astana kept, with a very clever group tactic, the help of Diego Ulisi and many many forces.

Lopez crossed the finish line on Ioannis Melissanidis Street, behind Mer and Ulisi, but kept a 21-second lead-Niki lead from Anton Aid Schofer in the last Sunday of the last Sunday in Attica to Attica. Starting time, 10.30 in the morning.

The evolution of the race

The fourth year started with a mild time in the port of Nea Artakis and multiple attacks. The Italian Gyvani Carbon (Unibet Tietema Rockets) chose the … difficult road and climbed it, in places foggy, Dirfi. Behind him, the XDS Astana tried to control Peloton’s pace and gather as many points as possible in the two tedious (category 1) climbing sprint.

Carboni took the two 15s, which he so much wanted, in the ports at an altitude of 963 m and in the 1,016 -meter -long Strops, with the other two contenders of the mountain jersey, as well as the blue of the round, Lucas Plap (Jayco Alula) and Martin Lopez of XDS.

With the terrain level, a group of cyclists was formed basically by the victory contenders and two groups of persecution, with Plap located – curiously – in the second. The owner of the blue jersey, Lopez with his fellow Diego Ulisi, was second and first respectively in the sprint of Chalkida, just before the new bridge and won valuable seconds for the overall rankings.

Prior to Avlona, the first group of chase reached the front and a bicycle of cyclists took over the reins of the race. These were last year’s Hrinkow Advarics Ricardo Choytl, Ulisi and Lopes XDS Astana, Bike Aid’s Anton Schifer, Siourd Bax, Marcel Camboubi and Fan Hawk of Q36.5, Yiannis Peter and Kolin Tietema Rockets. That is, from Jayco Alula!

With the road stepping uphill to the third ascent sprint (Category 2) in Saint Mercury, the attacks began, with Schfer giving the pace. The sprint and the 10 points were won by Schfer with Lopes following Carboni to conquer a point and 31 in total, a sum that kept him four in front of Lopes in the battle for the mountain jersey.

The last kilometers were downhill and on the right to the right, Schoffer lost control, went off the road for a while and left Lopez alone. Schiffer “stuck” with Ulisi and Mer and later with Carboni and formed the pursuit group. Before Varimbi, the five became a team, one that would claim the victory to the end.

In the face of the staunch audience in the Olympic Village, Mer proved to be stronger and gave Unibet Tietema Rockets the victory in the trap. Lopez retained the blue jersey, and is 21 seconds in front of Schifor and Carboni took possession of the mountains. The last jersey will be worn by tomorrow’s (6/4) last year the second of the rankings (behind Lopez, 29-28 points), Ulisi, while the white of the best young man passed into the hand of Thomas Printal of Elkov-Kasper.

With the help of all members of the Greek team, Nikiforos Arvanitou finished 23rd in 15 minutes and 25 seconds behind the top five.

Statements

Adrian Mer: “I am very happy to have achieved my first victory as a professional and it was great nice to have Joe (Carboni) with me in the end. Really super performance by the team all over the whole. It was a perfect day today. I enjoy the race here in Greece. I prefer to be the weather as it is today. I was scared a little in the morning to spoil, but it was a perfect day with the perfect temperature. ”

Martin Lopez: “It was a difficult dump. At first it was very difficult, but my team checked the first two climbs. After that we had 80 kilometers of flat surface and with the help of Diego (Ulissi) it was easier. At the last ascent I felt very well, I attacked loudly and in the final straight I helped my stomach, so I was very happy with the development of the race. ”

Giovanni Carboni: “Today it was an incredible dump. We were attacked from the beginning, and yes, I am very happy about the mountain jersey and for my peoples, Adrian for his great victory.

We were unlucky with the weather yesterday, but I think today was a very good nightmare. I was unlucky in the second half, because I fell on the last climb on the slippery road. Today I did my best and of course I’m happy with the result. ”

Thomas Printal: “To be honest, it was probably one of the most difficult things I have struggled, but I am happy to be here again for the statements. That means I won the best young man’s jersey, so I’m very happy for both me and my team. ”

Pericles Elias: “Today it was the royal database on paper and in reality. The rhythm of the race and the style had nothing to do with the previous three sides. It started very loud, the first big mountain and the second, which was the crucial point, because they distinguished the leading group from the middle of the mountain to the top and went to the end. I tried very much.

I am pleased, although I lost contact in the middle of the second mountain with the pioneers, I was unable to withstand the fast pace and stayed on the back groups we were united in downhill. In the straight lines in Chalkida we became a larger group and the attacks began and we have come here in Afidnes and finished 31st, but even so I am happy. “
