At the top ping pong event, the Men’s Men-Women’s 2025 World Championships in Doha, May 17-25, will be attended by Panagiotis Gionis and Konstantinos Angelakis, in the simple one, and in the double men.
Their participation is an honorary and encouraging news for the sport as in recent years the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships are done with athletes and invitations, so it has the finals brand. And if for the experienced of these Gion Events, it was certain that, based on his position in the world rankings, he will be on the list of participants in the simple one, for Angelakis was a very enjoyable and significant development.
Double -men’s pairs at the World Championship will be up to 64. The relevant table had not been completed and the World Table Tennis Federation sent the invitation to EFOEA on Good Thursday. He concerned Angelakis with partner Slovaka Vang Yang.
The great Greek defender has a good harvesting of points on the international rating table of the race. He has also rendered his previous collaboration with his defensive Vang Yang, and therefore their invitation included a twin. The Hellenic Federation made it, of course, immediately accepted, and so in the Lusail Sports Arena of the capital of Qatar, Angelakis will make his debut in a world championship.
Gionis will compete in the simple one, where the organizers allow up to 128 athletes. The same is the limit for women, just in this year’s World Championships, the positions of athletes in the international ranking list do not allow our country.

For Angelakis to add that he has completed his fighters in this year’s fighters in the four overseas championships he “passed”. In the first division of Sweden and Italy we had been mentioned, recently ended his matches in the respective championships in Poland, where he took seventh place with Bialistok, where he participated in Burgos with only four team matches.
