Veteran AEL footballer died – PAE condolences

OR AEL mourns the loss of her veteran footballer Dimitris Zambawith the “crimson” PAE issuing and condolences announcement Today (21/05).

Dimitris Zambas was one of the first players to wear the crimson jersey, being AEL’s main executive during her maiden presence in the history of Greek football, in the 1964-65 season.

Earlier he competed in Larissa, being one of the ten players chosen to set up AEL’s first team after the historic merger of 1964.

In total he recorded 160 appearances and 34 goals with the crimson jersey which he initially wore until 1969 when he moved to Olympiacos Volos before returning to his beloved AEL in the 1975-76 season for a second and last term.

The funeral of Dimitris Zamba will take place on Wednesday (21/5) at the Lazaros Resurrection Church at the New Cemetery of Larissa at 6 pm
