Cypriot football bids farewell to one of its most important representatives. THE Panikos Crystallisthe emblematic form of the sport in Cyprus, passed away at the age of 87, scattering sadness in the island’s athletic world.
Crystallis was one of the top players of his generation, with a great career in Apollo Limassol, while also competing in AEK and AEL. He wore the National Cyprus jersey for a decade, from 1960 to 1970, leaving his imprint indelible internationally.
At the end of his football career, he continued to offer the sport from the bench, taking over the technical leadership of the National Cyprus in 1976-1977.
The Cyprus Football Federation expressed its deep sadness over the loss of Crystal, paying tribute to a man who served football with morality, passion and consistency.
