Fasula at Sport-fm.gr: “The ceiling of the national team the sky, like the blue in our jersey”

-Every morning when the team comes to the SEF, you look high and you see your face on the big poster outside the stadium. Your feelings?

“We are very excited to take place in the SEF at Eurobasket, it makes it very special. It’s huge to play for your country in your country, we feel very lucky for it. And every time we enter the court is creepy, moving, it’s a great feeling. ”

-You’ve played in big events earlier. But how different is it to become a Eurobasket at the team’s headquarters? Do you have more pressure, more responsibility, but you can get more push?

“We can get a huge boost from the public. I don’t think there is pressure, we are lucky to play in our country in a huge event. Personally, I feel responsible every time I wear the jersey, from a pags. It doesn’t change something we play here, every time I feel the same responsibility to represent my homeland as best as possible and as it deserves. ”

-Fasula in 1987, Fasula in 2025. Similarities and differences with that time? And then basketball was not yet at the level of popularity it has today. Do you think that this Eurobasket can be a cause for boosting women’s basketball in Greece?

“In 1987 the team had taken the gold and put the basketball on the map. Everywhere he wrote ‘Greece Basketball’. It was a terrible thing. For us now I think we have taken steps to promote women’s basketball, it is a huge initiative to show we are here too. Let people come to know us, not only our own team, but all, because the level of the event is very high. I think it’s a good start. ”

-Any advice your father has given you on how you manage an event in your country?

“He always tells me to picture the game before it is done and think positively. It helps me a lot. What he was telling me from an early age because I was anxious was that basketball is a game and I should not forget it. ‘Enjoy it’, he always told me. If you are calm, you will play the basketball you know and you will be the teammate you need. After all, if you think about it, we play basketball because we love it. Because you started this sport, because you love it! ”

-Does this team have a team, or is heaven, like the blue jersey you wear?

“It goes without saying that there is no ceiling. The ceiling is the sky, like the blue of our jersey, as you said. I don’t like to put on a ceiling, there is no reason. We want to go as high as possible, play with the game day by day. Every year we want to take a step higher. ”

-Many say that this Eurobasket is an opportunity to promote correct youth standards. Not only athletic, but also in general, since most players have studied, you’ve got good diplomas and you can act as standards.

“If we can even inspire a kid to say that I saw this team and I want to follow basketball or play and study, it’s an extra victory for us. This event can promote women’s basketball and I hope we can inspire even a human being. “
