Fine in the German football federation due to tax fraud

DFB is accused of tax fraud. The German Football Federation has made a scandal and its court imposed a € 130,000 fine. This case concerned the organization of the 2006 World Cup in the country. Former federation officials were reportedly deliberately deceived by the tax authorities, there is no doubt about it, “a Frankfurt regional court said.

The fraud was found in the payment of about 6.7m euros to a committee to cover events by events. They proved to be never done, and their costs do not deduct from tax. Overall, it is argued that more than 13.7 million euros were claimed in non -paid taxes for 2006.

Indeed, according to the court, 6.7m euros were allegedly used by the then World Cup president, Franz Beckenbauer, to bribe members of the FIFA Financial Committee.

“DFB cannot escape anything, even if football is the favorite sport of the Germans,” said Judge Eva-Marie Disler to add that the image of the German football federation was “tarnished”.
