PSAT condemns the exclusion of journalists from PAOK PAE

The Pan -Hellenic Athletic Association condemns PAOK’s unacceptable action to exclude the two sports authors and members of our Association, Costas Petrotos and George Zaire, from the friendly game with Namengen. The game had a journalistic coverage with the presence of at least 14 Greek and Dutch journalists last Saturday at the Namegen training center in the Netherlands.

Indeed, the two envoys of the Metromedia Group had an email to their hands from the Dutch team that they would be included in the list of people who were entitled to the friendly game. However, after PAOK’s intervention, they were left out of the court and was not allowed to watch the match closely.

As a reason for this move, which is exposing us internationally, the Namegen spokesman argued that the game is being organized by both teams and that it is PAOK’s decision not to find the two specific journalists on the pitch.

We call on PAOK to put aside the tactics that refer to the dark times of the past, we demand that it respect the right of liberty and not to obstruct the smooth functioning of the press. All stakeholders have already been informed of the issue and we hope PAOK PAE will understand its serious mistake in order not to need our new intervention.
