Samondourov-Loutopoulos: “Ready to do what we are asked for the National Team”

Happy and proud involving the preparation for the Eurobasket they declare Alexander Samondur and Lefteris Liotopoulos. The two young players are determined to offer whatever they can do and do what they are asked by filling performances for the future.

– You are two professional athletes who may have … wished this summer to have the least possible rest, as you would experience all that you live.

LL“The truth is that we could have had one more rest, but when you are called by the National Team it is the most honorable and I didn’t believe any kids. So yes, there is no second thought, basketball with national teams. ”

LET.“And I definitely wish I was here. I wanted it very much from a young age and even though we didn’t get to rest, I’m very happy to be here and I live all this. ”

– You are young, but you do not deprive experience, with this data there was and if so to what extent the so -called … fishing now that you are in the Men’s National in a Eurobasket preparation?

LL“I wouldn’t say fishing, I would say anxiety a little bit justified by the non -experience or the little experience we have with the Men’s National. However, we also have many performances in European small national teams, I at college, Samos in the Euroleague and A1 men, so we believe in a gap. ”

LET. “We do not have the experience of other children who are older than us. But we have other elements of passion and great energy because we are younger and try to do this in the parquet. ”

– Do you feel that your generation connects seasons to the Men’s National where a circle is gradually completed and will you be given the baton?

LET.“We have come here on the grounds that we are not small, nor have they given us anything. We have won it I think we are here. We are trying to prove in the training that we want to be here for the national team that the coach is building. ”

LL“Nothing is given. We’ve shown too much this year. We have an opportunity to build a new generation and we will try to do it. ”

– Now that the blood … cold, the fund in the effort of the national youth leaves bitterness or stubbornness?

LL “A little bit of both … it was an opportunity … We had a very good team and chemistry. However, you can’t win everything. We learn from our mistakes and defeats. I believe that in the coming years we will only have successes. ”

LET. “It definitely leaves both bitterness and stubbornness. I personally will remember this until I stop basketball because it was very unfair as this tournament evolved. ”

– Although in Greece the depreciation is easy, this team has gained sympathy, recognition and applause, did you say this acceptance?

LET. “Absolutely, it was clear both during the tournament. People were there even in the games we played in the ranking and the support was very honorable. ”

LL“For me it was the first time I played on Greek territory at a Eurobasket was an incredible experience and this would want to do every time to fill the stadiums and satisfy the world.”

– Is Spanoulis training you and seeing you living and Dikoudis to fulfill childhood dreams? Does it grow responsibility and motivation?

LET. “Certainly yes because they are people who have proven that they know how to succeed with the National and can help us to do it, to understand what this team is and how much we need to try to help it.”

LL“Just as Samos said, it’s definitely a huge support for us.”

– The first friendly of the national team is approaching, so maybe your first appearance with the men’s jersey, do you already think about it or wait for it?

LET. “I’ve thought about it yes, I’m not hiding it. It is very honorable and there is definitely anxiety because it will be the first time and it will be in Greece and with people on the pitch, so it will be a very nice feeling I believe. ”

LL“Of course, it’s a great feeling great honor for us. But until that time comes with the good, all I think about is every workout, to give 100%, to get into the team’s climate and offer when and whatever we are asked. “
