FIFA held in the early afternoon of this Friday (1st), in Doha, the draw for the groups of the World Cup in Qatar.
Brazil will have in Group G two of its opponents at the 2018 World Cup, Switzerland and Serbia, in addition to Cameroon.
In the last edition of the World Cup, Brazilians and Swiss faced each other in the debut of both teams and drew 1-1. The Serbs also made up the same group, and lost to the Brazilian team by 2-0.
Coach Tite’s team debuts against Serbia on November 24, faces Switzerland on November 28 and ends the group stage on December 2, against Cameroon.
The game that will mark the opening of the World Cup will be between the hosts, Qatar, against Ecuador, third place in the South American Qualifiers and led by the Argentine Gustavo Alfaro.
Of the 32 teams that will participate in the tournament, there are still three spots to be defined in the repechage. In one of the intercontinental playoffs, the United Arab Emirates will face Australia to define Peru’s opponent. In the other, Costa Rica will seek the spot against New Zealand.
In Europe, Wales faces the winner of Scotland v Ukraine, a duel that was postponed due to the war between Ukrainians and Russians.
The Qatar World Cup will be played between November 21 and December 18.
