Karnavas and Papadopoulou: Silver at the World Beach Wrestling U20 Championships

Double success for Greece at the World Beach Wrestling U20 Championships in Katerini. Elias Karnavas and the

Eudoxia Papadopoulou won the silver medal in the top event and raised the Greek flag high.

Eudoxia Papadopoulou competed in the 60K category. And he went to the group as a second having two wins and one defeat. In the semifinals of the institution he made a great appearance. In the semifinals, the Greek champion defeated Ukrainian Poplavska 4-0 comfortably and qualified for the big final. There he faced Uka from Ukraine and lost 4-2. The race was exciting and judged in the details. The Greek champion could well get the gold, but when the score was 2-2 he first touched the sand and lost the world title.

Elias Karnavas first went through the knockout match, winning the French Fabritsi 4-0. He went to the group excellently and with two wins and one defeat went to the quarter -finals. The Greek champion won 1-0 with Musiav (Ukraine) and got the ticket for the semifinals. There he fought with Nikpour and after a welcoming appearance he won 3-0 and got the ticket for the final. In the gold medal match, Karnavas faced Romanian Lenard and lost 5-0. The end result, however, is wrong, as well as the two times he lost points, he executed, but he first touched the sand.

Thanassis Avramidis had a very good presence who won 4th place.

Today, Katerini Beach begins the 4th stop of the World Series Beach Wrestling, where the top athletes around the world will compete!
