New logo – a new identity
The new visual identity of the Waterpolo League bears the signature of the acclaimed Visual Designer and Art Director, Christos Zoidis.
Design items:
-Beptual imprinting of water
-Somed athlete figure, like a wave with a ball
-Yellow ball, symbol of water polo and targeting goal
The logo is the new identity that will unite the sport, teams and fans.
“I didn’t just want a signal but a symbol”
Creator, Christos Zoidis, accompanied his “new child” with the following note:
“As a designer of the new logo for the Greek Polo Championship, my goal was to create an identity that would capture the dynamics of the sport and express the pride we feel about the Greek pole. I didn’t just want a signal but a symbol that accompanies the championship.
The inspiration came from the key elements of the game: water, the athlete and the ball. The fluid form refers to the constant movement of water and athletes in it, while the yellow ball functions as a focal point of racing. Colors derive from the Greek identity and the environment of the pool: deep blue for power, turquoise for energy, white for purity and balance.
The logo was designed in a way that is flexible and functional in every use. At the same time, it maintains a minimalist character to remain timeless and immediately recognizable. In his two versions, both for the men’s and women’s championship, he respects the history of the Greek pole while at the same time looking forward, highlighting a dynamic and contemporary image worthy of the league and his people.
