Despodov: “We are all in this together, we must work together for the good of Bulgaria”

Four consecutive defeats counts national of Bulgaria in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and is clearly at the bottom of its group standings with zero points and definitively out of the final phase of World Cupwhich will be held next summer at its stadiums Mexico, Canada and the USA.

PAOK football player, Kirill Despodov is the captain of the national team and in statements he made, he asked everyone to come together for the good of the team, to return to normality.



In detail what Kirill Despodov said:

“These defeats are hard to accept. We played against extremely strong opponents. The defeat against Turkey was much more difficult. We need to fix things by analyzing. The team is in a difficult situation, the players are very good, but these are clichés. We have to perform better.”



For the two big chances he had in the match: “Unfortunately I didn’t manage to score. I didn’t take advantage of the situations in the best way. Spain had 30 shots, but still had the ball most of the time.”

On the criticism received by the football players from the media and the people in Bulgaria: “Any footballer would be offended by the criticism. But we all have to work together for Bulgaria. We’re all in this together – we all lose together, we all win together. When we lose, we all grieve together and try to fix the situation.”
