Lucescu: “We fixed that and dominated the second half”

by

Although he remained at zero in another first half, o PAOK “unlocked” his defense Volos with three goals in the second, taking a 3-0 win and staying top of the standings.

After the match, Razvan Lucescu pointed out that his team must adapt to data of consecutive games, while he focused on the improved image of the “black and white” in the second half.

In detail what he said:

To win and stay on top: “Every week is with consecutive games in Greece and Europe, we have to adapt to it and the footballers seem ready, to present themselves in the right way to balance what happens in the previous game and the psychological freshness that we should have in the following match”.

On whether he was worried that the goal didn’t come earlier: “I wasn’t worried about that, but I was nervous mainly because we were moving the ball slowly. We lacked aggression and tension, we didn’t create chances against a team with a crowded defense, but we weren’t threatened. We corrected that in the second half, we had more intensity in our game and we dominated.”

On how he manages the short time between back-to-back games: “We must 100% analyze the opponent, know what we have to face. Also, the new footballers should “bond” with those who are already on the roster. Taylor was restrained in the first part, but he “unlocked” in the second part, Voliako still has to learn the “mechanisms” in defense and positioning and all this while the time between games and training is minimal, so we have to adapt to the data.”
