In “Voisins-le-Bretonneux” the ITTF World Para Elite Yvelines 2025, which belongs to the top of the three levels of the program, started on Sunday and ends on Thursday. Giorgos Mouchthis, who is high on the evaluation board, took part in the singles class 6 standings. He made a positive appearance, passed the group stage and placed in positions 5-8.
Athletes from ten countries participated in class 6 of the event in Yvelines and the first phase included four groups. Mukhtis (number 17 today in his category in the ITTF World Para Ranking) competed in the second group and crossed the board with second place.
In the opener, he lost to top Italian Matteo Parenzan 3-0 sets (4-11, 7-11, 5-11) and in the decisive second game he defeated Sweden’s Mikael Azoulay 3-1 sets (8-11, 11-8, 11-9, 11-8).
A draw of “8” followed and on Monday afternoon the 2019 European runner-up in the men’s team was eliminated by the third favorite, the British Paul Karabardak, with 3-1 sets. He took the first set by a margin, but the rest was not the same (11-3, 4-11, 7-11, 4-11).
The structure of the World Para Circuit also includes the Future and the Challenger. The Elite of France is the last of 2025 and has a significant weight for the rankings of the athletes in the institution.
The world federation also notes that “athletes are chasing crucial points ahead of 2026 – when the qualifiers for the World Championships will begin – and each race takes on additional importance beyond the immediate prize money and prestige of the event”.
