PAOK defeated by Braunschweig with 88-79 for his third game FIBA Europe Cup and was obliged to his first negative result in the event. The guests, although they started better, saw the Germans get double-digit differences and eventually reach the positive result.

The first scorers for the winners were Gesan with 17 points and 8 rebounds, with Sherfield adding as many and distributing 8 assists, while Jackson stood out for PAOK with 17 points.

The game started with Braunschweig leading with small differences, reaching the difference to +6 (18-12). As a result of the year, the image of PAOK improved with the 1st period ending at 18-18, after a partial 6-0 of the guests.

PAOK entered the second quarter better and took its first lead (21-18), after a three-pointer by Persides. The visitors, despite being leveled by the Germans at 25-25, remained focused and a quick 4-0 made it 29-25 with six minutes remaining. The “double-header of the North” managed to build a 6-point difference in the middle of the second period (36-30) with Moore being excellent with the racket, but the Germans came back and cut it to 35-37 with 2 minutes and 38” left. Braunschweig with a three-pointer by Schroeder at the end of the first half took the lead again, after a long time, with the score at 43-41.

The hosts, taking advantage of the good psychology they acquired at the end of the first part, took the lead at the beginning of the third period with 50-43. PAOK was extremely misguided with the Germans showing a positive face in defense and attack and reaching the difference to +12 (57-45), four minutes before the end of the third quarter. A 12-4 run of their own cut the doubleheader to 61-57 with Braunschweig entering the fourth quarter with a six-point lead (65-59).

The Germans continued to maintain differences on the edges of 10 points (73-64), with PAOK making an effort to reduce. The “two-headed” after free throws managed to reduce the difference to 5 points (75-70) and with Jackson’s three-pointer to be at -4 (79-75) 3′ 50” before the end of the game. Even though PAOK managed to reduce it to 79-77, the home team woke up at the right time and got the pink match sheet with 88-79.
