Micic: “There was a meeting with a Greek team in the summer – It goes without saying that Shorts-Nan will work”

THE Vasilij Micic gave an interview to NOVA and Dora Pantelis, during which he opened his papers for this summer, revealing that there was real interest from Greek team and even a meeting for a possible transfer.

The Serbian guard spoke openly about his change agent of him, the difficulties he faced in the negotiation process, but also about how close he finally came to wearing a shirt Greek club.

At the same time, he referred with warm words to Greece and her fans, while also commenting on this year’s collaboration Shorts – Nan to Panathinaikos, expressing his belief that this duo will work and make a difference over time.

On whether he was close to a Greek team, if there was a meeting and the change of agent: “Yes, there was a meeting at a certain point. This summer and late in the season something happened that affected me and I took it personally, because I faced another challenge, this time different. I changed my agent and had a different negotiation to deal with which I had never done before in my life. Maybe if I had a little more experience in what to do and when… But I also had a very strong offer from Hapoel from the first moment I wanted to return to Europe, so they were the team leading in this… “race”. At the time I had very serious thoughts but then it didn’t go ahead, so now it’s ok.”

About the messages he received at that time from the fans of the Greek team: “Yes yes of course. I love Greece. For me, Greece is one of my favorite countries along with my own country, my homeland. And it’s always a really nice relationship between me and the fans and you never know.”

On whether the Shorts – Nan will finally “work”: “Of course. It’s already working and we’ve seen it in some games but it takes time because Nan is a player who monopolizes the pitch. He is a three-level player, that is, he can create, go all the way to the basket and also score from the three-pointer, and it is very important for him to have the ball. TJ is a bit different but very efficient, very athletic and very fast and Ataman likes players who are creative, talented and can score and pass! So I think it’s only a matter of time before they find their chemistry and be effective”.
