The Panhellenic Bench Weightlifting Championship in Serres was a “rehearsal general”, in view of the World Championship that will take place from November 27 to December 6 in Tbilisi.
Four qualifiers, but also two national records “marked” the event, which came a few months after the Tokyo Paralympic Games, where Greece celebrated the conquest of the bronze medal with Dimitris Bakochristos.
Present at the event in Tbilisi will be Konstantinos Dimou (+ 107k.), Gremislav Moisiadis (-80k.), Paschalis Kouloumoglou (-59k.) And Athanasios Vagenas (-80k.), While the national record was set by Grigoris Mosos (+ 49k.) And Christina Pavitsou (-79k.), With the exact same performance (75k.), In the exact same effort (second).
“Organizationally, the organization was fantastic. Congratulations to M.G.S. Panserraiko-Disabled, to the Federation and to those who contributed to it. Everything was perfect. Mrs. Thomas Theodoridou did an excellent job.
In the competition part we had many participations of young athletes who had a very good presence. The National Team was here, but we are in a transitional period, as the children are coming from their participation in the Tokyo Paralympics and are not in their best condition.
We will go to the World Championships in Tbilisi. “Participation in this event is in the process of qualifying for the Paralympics, which will take place in 2024 in Paris”, the federal coach, Dimitris Ioannidis, told ERT.
