Larentzakis: “Derby that will judge the home advantage”

A difficult and important match, not only because of the derby character it has, but also because it will probably judge the home advantage in the playoffs, characterized that of Olympiacos with Panathinaikos on Monday (19:30) at SEF by Giannoulis Larentzakis. In my opinion, the match with Panathinaikos is one of the most critical and certainly the one with the highest difficulty factor, compared to those we have given so far in the Stoiximan Basket League. And this is because I believe that to a large extent its result will judge the home advantage.

It was preceded by the double week of the Euroleague, where we had a record of one defeat and one victory. Unfortunately in the away game with Efes we did not succeed. For thirty minutes we were very good, but the fourth quarter was disastrous.

The positive thing, however, was that we immediately rebuilt our forces, made a very good appearance against Maccabi, had stability and took the victory comfortably. This particular victory I dare say gave us great energy and confidence.

Beyond that, everyone knows what an Olympiacos-Panathinaikos match means. The motivation for victory is huge. We have good psychology, we have worked hard, we have a good roster and I think we are ready.

Of course, we have to prove all this on the floor.

I am sure that our people will give a thunderous ‘present’, to support us and give us impetus, as it does in all home games. We need our fans by our side, for the additional reason that they have a significant contribution to the fact that we have managed to keep our home undefeated.
