As new research shows that as kids’ homework gets harder, more than two-thirds of parents use voice assistants like Amazon’s Alexa and Google Home.

According to a TalkTalk survey, the use of smart plugs (generally used to connect electric assistants to the voice) has increased by 47% over the past year, with a rise in difficult schoolwork.

Three quarters of parents say that working at school is more difficult than when they were in school.

Worryingly, more than half (52%) said they gave the wrong answer to their child’s homework.

Two-thirds (66%) said they were embarrassed because they didn’t know the right answer in front of their children, and 55% secretly answered their children’s questions using a voice assistant.
