When will Internet Explorer close?
Internet Explorer will end tomorrow, June 15, 2022.
As of this time, according to Microsoft online support, Internet Explorer 11 desktop applications will no longer be compatible with certain operating systems.
This affects certain versions of Windows 10 client SKUs (version 20H2 and later) and users of Windows 10 IoT (version 20H2 and later).
This browser is not available in Windows 11 because Microsoft Edge is the default browser.
Last year, Microsoft announced that it was delaying its Internet Explorer 11 browser.
The last software update was received in 2013 when Internet Explorer 11 was released.
Why does Internet Explorer close?
Instead of Internet Explorer, Microsoft encourages users to use the new Edge web browser.
In last year’s blog post, Microsoft explained, “Microsoft Edge is faster, more secure, and a more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it also solves the big problem of compatibility with older websites and apps.”
Can I use Internet Explorer after completing it?
Even after retirement, people can still use Internet Explorer.
Microsoft Edge enables IE mode, which allows users to access the technology from their original browser.
IE mode supports all enterprise and document modes, ActiveX controls, browser helper objects, Group Policy and Settings, F12 developer tools, and Microsoft Edge extensions.
When Internet Explorer is closed, the app will not be removed from any device as it is required to enable IE mode in Microsoft Edge.
