NASA has revealed an incredible video of the moon zooming in on its landing Neil Armstrong and his Buzz Aldrin and their traces on the lunar surface, which are still visible, 53 years after the Apollo 11 landing.
“Today is the anniversary of Apollo 11’s moon landing, the first time humans set foot on the surface of another world,” the space agency said on Twitter, noting that July 20 is International Moon Day.

NASA notes that Apollo 11 is the most well-known, but its previous missions paved the way for the landmark landing, including robotic explorers such as Rover and Surveyor, as well as the manned missions Apollo 8, 9 and 10, which they tested entry and exit from lunar orbit.
The US space agency is targeting August 29 for the launch of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and the Orion spacecraft from the Kennedy Space Center. James Free, deputy administrator at NASA headquarters in Washington, said the exact date will be set about a week before the launch. NASA spent the entire week preparing tributes to the astronauts who first walked on the moon.
