The Municipality of Corinthia signed the contract for the utilization of the regional market of Lechaio

The contract for the Biotechnology Technology Park in Lechaio was signed, with the project budget amounting to 83 million euros.

As the Deputy Minister of Development and Investments Christos Dimas states in a post on social media: “Today a great step was taken for the implementation of the Biotechnology Park in Lechaio!

The Municipality of Corinthia signed the contract for the utilization of the regional market of Lechaio.

A Biotechnology Technology Park will be developed there, with the project budget amounting to 83 million euros.

The aim is for young scientists, start-ups, technology and pharmaceutical companies to settle there, creating significant synergies and opportunities. Already Theracell (specializing in Life Sciences and the development of innovative cell and gene therapy products) is participating in the scheme along with other companies.

This specific investment is expected to make Lechaio a point of reference for innovation and life sciences in Greece and to contribute significantly to the development of the wider Corinthian region.

About 1.5 years ago, a part of the regional market of Lechaio was granted to the Municipality of Corinthia by ETAD in order to carry out the investment in this particular spot. It was then approved by the inter-ministerial as a strategic investment. Today we are one step closer to its implementation!”.
