The implementation of the “Digital Document Certification” service is expected to be announced in a few days, as stated by the Minister of State and Digital Government Kyriakos Pierrakakis, in an interview with the newspaper Proto Thema. “This is an extension of the responsible statement and authorization service. “With the new service, citizens will be able to sign digital private contracts and certify the authenticity of their signature through gov.gr in any document,” he said characteristically.

As he explained “with a very simple procedure, two contracting citizens will be able to scan or photograph the contract with their mobile phone, upload it to the gov.gr service and sign it successively”.

“With the same identification process as for the issuance of a responsible declaration and authorization and with the use of a one-time password on their mobile phone, they will have the document with an official digital stamp on each page, for every legal use,” the Minister of Digital Government underlined.

“So in a few days, citizens will be able to sign up without having to wait at a counter for the ratification of their agreement,” he explained.

Mr. Pierrakakis pointed out that this process will be very important, among others, for Greeks abroad, for businessmen and professionals, who will save time, but also for “people with disabilities and our vulnerable fellow citizens.”
